A Flat Fee Rate Structure

A Flat Fee Rate Structure

Massage therapy is health and wellness. It prevents injury, it alleviates pain, and it reduces stress. It is not a luxury to have only on vacation or for a birthday – at least not if you want to see and feel the long-term effects in your daily life. If we have ever spoken about massage and bodywork, I have said this to you – and probably more than once! The massage industry as a whole is slowly but surely proving why massage is healthcare. Now, I am excited to take one more step in advocating massage as healthcare by eliminating tipping at my business and charging a flat fee rate structure.

30 Minute Therapeutic Massage Therapy Session $75

45 Minute Therapeutic Massage Therapy Session $95

60 Minute Therapeutic Massage Therapy Session $115

90 Minute Therapeutic Massage Therapy Session $165

A flat fee rate means everything is included in the rate you see advertised. You won’t be asked for additional taxes or fees, and you won’t be asked for a tip. As the business owner, I have researched the cost of living in the Fort Collins community and determined what my business must produce annually to thrive.

I believe massage therapy should be part of everyone’s  health and wellness routine. You don’t tip your general practitioner, your physical therapist, your psychotherapist, etc., and you shouldn’t tip your massage therapist. (Please note this is just for my business or any other business that has incorporated a flat fee structure. Employee-based massage therapists still often make an unfair hourly rate and rely heavily on your tips).

Additionally, tipping can be confusing and awkward. I strive to make everything about your massage session, not just the physical work on the table but the time prior and after, as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

It’s basically the same as before! There will no longer be a question regarding a tip prior to completing your purchase – you will simply be charged the flat fee. This change will be seen whether you pay online ahead of your appointment or at the time of service at my studio.

If you still feel the urge to leave a tip, please speak up. Additional tips are saved in an account used for people in Fort Collins who cannot afford massage therapy. Recently, this account was used to provide four hours of chair massage for the teachers at a local school.

My dream is to build an organization that can help more people receive the benefits of massage therapy even if they cannot afford it, while still providing the practitioner with a living wage. If this idea intrigues you, contact me and let’s see what we can create!
