Body image has always been an important issue for me. I had my battles with it as a teenager, and I won’t lie and tell you I never fight these battles from time to time as an adult. Now, more than ever, I feel it’s important to turn to those in your life and make sure they hear, out loud and clear, that they are loved for whomever they are.
This newsletter’s main article focuses on body image. And while it speaks mostly of women, this is an issue that affects every human in so many different ways, so I ask you to think of all the humans in your life as you read. The remaining articles talk about massage and your teen (a large population dealing in some form with body image), and a simple breathing exercise that can help both you and your teen in times of discomfort.
I try my best to make my studio a safe place for everyone. Come as you are, feel free to say whatever comes to your mind (just know if it is an emotional comment my license states I can listen but cannot respond with more than an acknowledgement), and know you will not be judged. Communicate anything within my four walls that makes you uncomfortable and we will work towards a better practice for us both. If today happens to be a day you need to hear this: you are loved, accepted, and heard for everything you are. In fact, I love getting to see what makes you unique – so maybe bring a little more of you into the world today!
